Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about classes, memberships, pricing, and what to expect at Skyline Pilates.
Absolutely. You do not need to be flexible, fit, or have any prior experience to start Pilates! Our studio is a completely judgment-free zone. Because our class sizes are intentionally small, you will never be left to struggle at the back of the room. We provide hands-on guidance to ensure you feel confident and supported from your very first session.
Yes. In fact, this is our specialty. Our founder, Gina brings over 15 years teaching experience and STOTT-certified expertise, which is heavily grounded in rehabilitation science and biomechanics. If you are managing a specific injury, joint stiffness, or chronic pain, we highly recommend starting with a 1-to-1 session so we can assess your unique anatomy and build a safe, effective movement plan just for you.
Both are incredible for building deep, functional strength, but they feel quite different. Mat Pilates (£15 per class) focuses on controlling your own body weight against gravity — fantastic for building core strength, improving breathing, balance, posture, and control. Reformer Pilates (£20 per class) uses a specialised machine with spring-loaded resistance. The springs can either support you through a difficult movement or act as a challenge to build muscle tone.
Please wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows you to move freely (please avoid clothes with heavy zippers that can damage the Reformer upholstery). For hygiene and safety, grip socks are required for all classes. We provide all the equipment, so simply bring a water bottle, a clean hand towel for your personal use, and yourself!
To ensure you see real, lasting changes in your strength and mobility, we run our memberships as 6-week courses. Pilates is a progressive practice and booking a 6-week course allows us to intelligently build your strength week by week, keeping you accountable to your body and your goals.
We know life gets busy! That is why we offer a flexible Class Credit option. As long as you cancel your session at least 24 hours before the class starts, you will receive a credit on your account. You can use this credit to book into another available class, ensuring you never miss out on your practice and get the absolute most out of your 6-week membership.
To keep you consistent with your practice, all Class Credits must be used within your current 6-week course block. They cannot be rolled over into the next term, but you are welcome to use them to attend multiple classes in a single week to make up for your missed session.
We are located at Unit 2C in the Tenterden Business Centre in St Michael’s, Tenterden TN30 6SP. We have free parking available at our location making visiting us a stress-free experience.
To respect the privacy, focus, and comfort of all our clients, we kindly ask that no filming or photography takes place during our group sessions. However, we love seeing you celebrate your progress! If you would like a photo or a quick video on the Reformer, simply ask your instructor after class has finished.
Congratulations! Because your body is going through immense changes, please contact us directly before booking a group class. Depending on your trimester and experience level, we may recommend starting with our private 1-to-1 sessions to ensure you receive the safest, most supportive modifications for you and your baby.
We have a decent sized restroom available for clients to use before, during and after class, adequate for a change of clothes. However, we do not currently offer shower facilities, so please plan accordingly if you are heading straight to work.
Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your class begins so you can settle in, put on your grip socks, and find your space. Because Pilates requires deep focus and a proper physical warm-up, late arrivals of more than 5 minutes cannot be admitted to class for safety reasons and this will be counted as a late cancellation.
